Those of you who know me, I am not your typical Wedding Planner.  Instead I like to think of myself as a Wedding Consultant, Concierge and Coordinator, and your Personal Assistant!  I started in the hotel industry 30+ years ago at the MGM Grand Hotel in Reno, NV in the banquet and catering department; where I learned the attention to “Details”.  From there I had the honor of selling, promoting, planning, catering and coordinating Events & Weddings at various hotels and wedding venues, which were located in Northern Nevada, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Southern California.

2015, I was hired to sell, promote and market a new oceanfront hotel called the Pasea Hotel in Huntington Beach, CA.  It was amazing, yet challenging at the same time selling weddings to brides and grooms from the ground level of dirt and steel beams, while wearing hard hats.  I will never forget my first wedding with 350 guests three weeks after our opening date!  (Christina and Steve, thank you both for your trust and friendship).

2017-2020, I was the Director of Catering and Special Events selling the most magical weddings at the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows and the Ingleside Inn in the heart of Palm Springs.  I was truly blessed when I landed this position at the tail end of my career!  It never felt like work because I was selling, planning and coordinating the most beautiful weddings with newly engaged couples from all over the world! So, why would I leave these two gorgeous venues and such a fun career?  Due to Covid-19 and being furloughed, the timing couldn’t of been more perfect for me to semi-retire, travel with Frankie G (my boyfriend of 12 years), teach yoga, hike, workout, cook, entertain and spend more time with my family in Reno, NV.  

Knowing that I could never really stop working, I decided to start my own business “Weddings with Pam Olson”, where I can assist my couples with finding their special venue (the most challenging task) of planning your wedding. I will coordinate and connect you with the most talented, professional and amazing wedding vendors in Palm Springs, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Lakes to create your fabulous and seamless wedding weekend!
